Using the directory
Terms of use
These terms cover what the directory is, what it does not guarantee, and the safety and accuracy responsibilities that stay with the people using it.
Directory role
Find Locators provides information and connection tools. It is not a utility operator, one-call center, engineering firm, excavation contractor, insurer, or guarantor of provider performance.
Safety
Users remain responsible for the official 811 process, applicable requirements, site controls, provider selection, and safe excavation practices. A locate reduces uncertainty but cannot guarantee completeness, exact depth, or absence of utilities.
Provider information
Listing, claim, and verification states have limited definitions. Information can change, expire, be disputed, or contain errors. Use correction and complaint channels when a material issue is found.
Acceptable use
Do not impersonate a business, submit false evidence, scrape private data, abuse forms, interfere with the service, or use directory information for unlawful or deceptive activity.
